Cultivars

Esquire

One of the most versatile perennial ryegrasses available. It maintains a dark green colour and while other perennials can show summer stress and disease damage, Esquire’s excellent wear tolerance can manage abuse and still look great all year round.

Turfgold

Our deep-green variety with the highest slow regrowth values is ideal for a low maintenance requirement. Exceptional green colour in winter. It combines particularly robust genetics with darker texture and a medium width leaf blade which results with a hard-wearing variety.

Maxima

Highly stress tolerant variety with a great appearance through the year. The disease resistance of Maxima is exceptionally good and the cultivar is very stable over summer as well as in winter. A really flexible variety that brings all cultivars together in the mixture.

Dipper

The nice fresh green appearance of this variety stays round the year and makes Dipper an important variety for all lawn mixtures. A really rich colour with well balanced characteristics and incredibly high density provide a good protection against weeds!

Frequently asked questions

For really even distribution and the correct gsm application we would advise to apply with a drop seeder or spreader. If you don't have either of these you can apply the grass seed by hand with the same effect just a little less control over the amount applied.

Grass seed already has a small nutrient source in the seed for germination and to develop the plant at the initial stages. Our liquid feed requires a leaf to adbsorb the nutrients so as soon as you start to see some new grasses coming up you're able to apply our So & Mo lawn feed to the area.

Germination time all depends on the condition of the soil and the weather. Most grass seed will germinate above 6 degrees however the temperature needs to be above this consistently for a couple of weeks. With good temperatures you should start to see germination of the ryegrasses in 7-10 days with the fescues typically taking around 4-5 days longer. Lower temperatures mean this could be 20 days and over.

If stored in the correct conditions which are dry, cool place out of sunlight then our seed will last for up to a year.

Certainly can. No need to use all the seed at once, simply seal the bag as best you can and keep in a dry place safe of any moisture.

Quality not what expected for price

The grass seed has now had 2 weeks to grow with the grass constantly been watered etc. Most of the patches are still on the grass with about 20% of grass seed that was sown growing. Disappointed as expected more.
